It isn't a surprise to anyone who knows me well that I am not the biggest fan of summer. While most people are throwing on their tank tops and running to the beach, I'm much happier lounging inside near an air conditioning unit not sweating myself to death. New York is hot in the summer time. I mean really hot. And miserable. As much as I do love a little bit of sunshine, I am just not that pretty in the treacherous heat. No layering, no hats, no scarves... I don't know what to do with myself. Heat frankly doesn't look good on me and certainly doesn't showcase my personal style in all the ways I'd like it to.
My biggest issue with the summer is that I feel like I never really have anything to wear. In the fall and winter I am able to wear multiple items in my wardrobe at once and mix, match, and layer them for tons of different and expressive outfits. During the summer I am forced to wear only one item at a time. Let's say for arguments sake that I have twenty shirts that I love for the warmer weather. Well, the summer is over ninety days. So once I wear all of the tops that I love, what am I supposed to do for the other sixty days of the season? It kills me.
When I factor these fashion frustrations on top of my already very busy schedule at work and play, I haven't been as dedicated to this blog. At least not as much as I should be, and would like to be. Therefore I have decided to take a summer hiatus, and begin posting again when the weather cools down and I can focus on dressing adorable again. Until then feel free to connect with me on Twitter. @ChChChCheckIt I hope that you have a fantastic summer, and I will see you soon. Cheers!
